Teach Your Dog ANYTHING!
March 25, 2007 |
To train a dog successfully, we must be aware that dogs learned thru associations.
When we realise that our pets are not ”Getting It”, we must ask ourselves if we have done anything consiously or subconsiously that cause our pets not to learn what we have been trying to all along. Or, are we consistent in our message, both verbal, action and tone? They pick up ques differently from humans, so we need to learn DOG LANGUAGE before we can successfully train them to behave.
An example of a pet learning thru associations are, when they experience something good or bad from their behavior, they pick up the lessons learnt automatically. So we need to be very consistent when trainng them to perform a trick or behave appropriately. Also, to avoid associating bad feelings/outcome your dog experiences with behaviours you want from your dog.
